Jim Kasic
Chairman and Founder
With more than 25 years of experience in the Class I, II, and III medical device industry, Jim’s range of experience spans a spectrum from large multi-national organizations to start-ups with both national and international scope. He holds 40 U.S. and international patents and has authored several dozen scientific publications.
Prior to Boulder iQ, Jim founded and served as president of Boulder BioMed, and president and CEO of Sophono, Inc. (acquired by Medtronic). At Otologics LLC, he held the positions of director of clinical research and training, and worldwide director of sales and marketing. Early in his career, Jim was an engineering manager and senior design engineer with Boston Scientific, and a reliability/process/design engineer with W. L. Gore and Associates.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, and a Master of Science degree in chemical and biological engineering from the University of Colorado. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
Steve Seyer
Chief Operating Officer
Steve is a strong multidisciplinary manager with broad experience in rapid-pace medical device development environments. Over more than three decades in product development, manufacturing, and quality experience, he has developed expertise in leading cross-functional project teams from product concept to commercialization.
The COO’s experience includes serving as senior director of research and development for robotics at Accelus, Inc. (Louisville, Colorado), vice president of research and development at Zimmer Biomet, Inc. (Westminster, Colorado), and senior director of research and development at Spine Wave, Inc. (Shelton, Connecticut). Earlier in his career, Steve held senior manager and engineering positions with Wright Medical Technology, Inc. (Arlington, Tennessee), and product development and manufacturing engineering roles at Smith & Nephew, Inc. (Memphis, Tennessee).
He holds Master of Engineering Management and Bachelor of Science degrees from Christian Brothers University (Memphis, Tennessee).
Sammuel Beelow
Senior Manufacturing and
Sterilization Engineer
Samm leads and manages sterilization and manufacturing projects. His work includes the development and execution of sterilization validation protocols, procedures and technical reports, and assurance of compliance to the quality management system and all applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Before joining Boulder iQ, Samm held the position of quality engineer at Medtronic (Denver), Invitae (Boulder, Colorado) and Baxter (Round Lake, Illinois). He began his engineering career with Shire in Barrington, Illinois.
Samm holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa.
